Jai Durga Hindu Society Scarborough is a registered charity operating as Sri Vrindavan Dhaam (SVD). The charity started on November 1, 1984, in Scarborough, Ontario. Its first operation started in a commercial unit not far from where we are now at 2701 Markham Road in Scarborough.

SVD dedicates itself to serving the spiritual, cultural, social, and educational needs of the Hindu Community in the Eastern part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Durham Region, Markham, Scarborough, and throughout the GTA. Our mission is to advance and teach the religious tenets, doctrines, observances, teaching, and learning of Hindu Philosophy, music, arts, devotional songs, and cultural aspects associated with the Hindu (Sanatana Dharma) faith. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in our events.

Our long-term goal is to become one of the leading Hindu learning and teaching institutions in the GTA and surrounding areas.
